Description
Retiarii (Counter Infantry)
The Retiarii is an infantry unit as well as the first and cheapest gladiator that can be trained from the Amphitheater. While they deal good damage against other infantry, they have low hack armor and will themselves fall to other counter-infantry as well as any non-infantry unit. To compensate this weakness, they also deal bonus damage to buildings and can behave like a Heroic Age siege unit.

Mythology
These gladiators favored flexibility over heavy armor and had limited protection (if any). Modeled after fishermen, they were often pitted against the Murmillo who were in turn modeled after the fish. Their tridents allowed them to get a grip on the weapon of their opponent and sometimes disarm them. They also carried a weighted net called the "rete" that they could use to entangle their opponent and render them helpless. However, the Retiarii were often humiliated by their clothing that were often modeled after women's fashion.
