Here is a brief summary of the towns and cities of Kawaru.

Rambutan Town: the player's hometown is a small village located in the mountains. Though the soil is fertile, despite the occasional snowfall, the unmaintained roads make it difficult for people to deliver seeds and equipment for farming. Your mother sells medicinal herbs which you can also purchase and she can also hold onto some of your earnings in Pokemon battles. If you plant berries in your neighbour's garden, they may sell them once they're ripe but will make big profits, most of which they will provide to you.

Professor Larch Laboratory: the region's professor has isolated himself in an observatory on the edge of a cliff. Blackout Mountain can be observed using the observatory's telescope. Professor Larch's wife will also help you with breeding your Pokemon.

Ugli Town: this small town at the base of the mountains is plagued by extreme poverty. The commander has ordered all garbage in Kawaru to be dumped in a landfill next to the town at the expense of the residence's health. The excessive trash has polluted the water supply and the air quality, causing those who refuse to leave to fall sick on a regular basis.

Mangosteen City: located just outside the rainforest, this is the location of botanic research laboratories trying to improve the quality and efficiency of growing produce. It is the location of the first gym.

Lychee City: an important port for passenger and cargo ships alike. Strict regulations are in place to prevent the import of hazardous material into Kawaru. The name rater is a well known resident. After rescuing him from two corrupt officers, he will arrange for a friend to give you a boat ride to either Durian City or Kumquat Village where your next badge awaits.

Durian City: this popular tourist attraction occupies an entire island off the coast of Kawaru. Some of the wealthiest people in the world reside here. Notable buildings include the Pokemon Bank, the Fashion Show, the movie studio and a five star hotel. This paradise is not affected by the commander's regime. It is the location of the 2nd or 3rd gym, depending on where you travel first.

Kumquat Village: hidden deep within the rainforest, this tribal village lives independantly from the rest of Kawaru. The village is constructed in the tree tops, with the highest hut being the residence of the chief. It is also the location of the 2nd or 3rd gym, depending on where you travel first.

Jungle of Trials: this dark area of the rainforest serves as a training ground for the residences of Kumquat Village. Solving puzzles here will reward you with valuable items needed for your journey.

Prehistoric Park: during the game, the park is under construction and only the laboratory is accessible, where they will revive any fossils you bring to them. In the postgame, the owner lost control of the park and all the revived prehistoric Pokemon now roam free. It now serves as Kawaru's equivalent of a safari zone. Pokemon found there include Kabuto, Kabutops, Omanyte, Omastar, Aerodactyl, Lileep, Cradily, Anorith, Armaldo, Relicanth, Cranidos, Rampardos, Shieldon, Bastiodon, Tirtouga, Carracosta, Archen, Archeops, Tyrunt, Tyrantrum, Amaura, Aurorus, Euryclaw, Vitreurin, Sprintrot, Foreprod, Thoraptor and Ulodon.

Langsat City: the prosperity of this city has declined drastically in recent years. When the commander order a chain of mountains to be levelled, it allowed ships to travel to Kanto without having to sail further south. Langsat City's port became less and less frequented and major fishing companies nearly depleted the surrounding sea of its resources, making it difficult for residents to make a living. They were forced to start levelling the nearby rainforest in order to grow crops, destroying many important habitats for several species of Pokemon. The city is home to a large cold storage which is also the location of the 4th gym.

Guava Village: a small village that looks after a dam built to control Kawaru's great river. The dam prevents trainers from surfing through but until it is open, you may always use the walkway to cross the river.

Salak City: this city is actually built within the wreck of an old galleon. Despite being in excellent condition after all these years, the commander had plans to have it destroyed in order to make the beach accessible for public enjoyment. To prevent this, several residence made their home in the wreck and even built a Pokemon Center. You can view Blackout Mountain from the crow's nest using a spyglass. The upper deck is where you will find the 5th gym.

Sinking Cave: this cave system within the cliff earned its name because it was once believed to sink below the ocean as the caves filled with water during high tides. On the hard difficulty, the sinking caves are only accessible during low tides unless you have a Pokemon with dive. A password is required to access a secret passage used by the rebels.

Noni Town: the only town in the franchise to have a population of 0, this town was abandonned by its residence who decided to live in Salak City to save the wreck. All the children meanwhile were sent to live on their own in Santol City. You will find a gift Pokemon in one of the abandonned houses.

Sapodilla City: the largest city in Kawaru has many business that will provide you with resources necessary for your journey. The large marketplace includes grocery stores, Pokeball stores, clothing stores and TM stores among others. However, the city is under a strict curfew and nothing is open on Sunday, so you must plan your shopping carefully. There is also a large cathedral that is accessible at all times, where the 6th gym can be found. Beware as the cathedral is rumored to be haunted.

Zorsiah Statue: a great monument dedicated to the legendary Pokemon that is said to have once given its life to save humanity once and that will eventually return to free them once more.

Soursop Town: this is the main train station for the railway system that crosses Kawaru's mountain chains. The residences are known to aggressively pester toursists into buying their merchandise. Town maps are also made here.

Santol City: this naturally built city is actually a series of openings carved into rock faces by the eroding effects of rain and tides. The population is made up entirely of children under the lead of a child prodigy who is also the leader of the 7th gym. All the children who live here are actually those of the residence of Salak City who were sent here to protect them from the commander's regime.

S.S. Sarah: after your battle with the 7th gym, you are sent down a chute to escape from an incoming army sent by the commander to capture you. If you wait on the shore for a few moments, the luxury cruise ship will pass by and a familiar face will ask for you to come aboard. The brief trip will allow you to face trainers and gather important TMs. The ship is set to port in Lychee City.

Cherimoya Ruins: these ancient ruins not only hide the secrets of an ancient civilization, but some legendary Pokemon as well. An ancient battle arena is still in use and serves as Kawaru's Battle Maison. A hidden passage also leads to Victory Road but it is heavily guarded.
Based on Machu Picchu

Tamarillo City: built into the hollowed out space where the Blackout Mountain once sat, this heavily industrialised city provides Kawaru with many important goods but also with electricity. The toxic fumes that emerges from the factory also contribute to the poor air quality in Ugli Town as it is carried down wind. Another breeding center is found here which is said to generate eggs at a faster rate, but your Pokemon may not quite enjoy their stay.

Blackout Mountain: this area is extremely difficult to access because this awe-inspiring mountain levitates. Strange properties in the rocks caused the summit to suddenly detatch itself from the mountain chain and slowly drift away over the eons. The 8th gym is located up there, but rumor has it that the commander and his army occupies it.
Based on Spire from MYST IV

Perilous Cave: terrifying roars are heard within this frozen cave which hint the presence of powerful Pokemon within. Only those who have defeated the Champion are allowed to venture inside.

Dekopon City: also known as the city of gold, all of Kawaru's treasures are said to be guarded there by the Elite Four and the Champion. Little is known on who these people are because they rarely leave the city. It is their duty to protect it from enemies afterall.
Based on El Dorado, this is the only town that doesn't get its name from a tropical fruit, instead getting it from an expensive one
