Kolonadankan
Pillar Arm

Towering at 12 metres in length and weighing roughly 7 tons, Kolonadankan is the alpha predator on the northern continents of Planet Eve. Unlike most super predators like Tiger Drakes, Nidhoggs, Forest Stalkers or even Tyrannosaurus Rex, Kolonadankan does not use its jaws to subdue its prey. Rather, it makes use of its massive, heavily muscled arms to catch and dismember its prey. Sometimes it tear the prey's limbs right off the body, sometimes it will lift it above and drop it onto its horn and impale it. Overall, they have been seen performing all kinds of brutal assaults on their prey, the most common being the Barrel Cows.

The main issue Kolonadankan has to has is the combination of its own size and its environment. There is no vegetation to blend into and being 12 metres long means you can be seen from quite a distance. Even more so when your prey has several eyes that can focus in different directions at the same time. Of course the solution is more simple that I build up for it to be: its armor is the same color as the sand. Finally, by running on all fours like a giant Gorilla, it pick up great speeds and for long periods of time. Its tail is full of fat required to fuel its immense bulk.

Not only are they extremely powerful, but Kolonadankan's arms are extremely flexible. It can twist them in different directions either for walking or seizing prey. Its hands have three fingers each, two of them having sharp nails to tear meat and pierce armor, as well as thumbs to help maintain a grip of prey.

"I needed another alpha predator, but I didn't want it to be cliche. That's why I picked arms over jaws. The design of the head was partly inspired by Carnotaurus, being short-faced and horned. One problem I have with this creature is that due to its sheer size, I can never fit the tail in the picture. If you look at the original draft, you'll see that even there its tail is curved towards its body. But in a sense, it helps show that despite its heavy armor, it's still a very flexible and dangerous predator. This thing could tear space ships open!"
