Toci1 - Cacanian

AKA: Dung Dwellers

Probably one of the most repulsive aliens of Toci1, if not, of the Universe. These omnivores live exclusively in an environment they created themselves: the Augean Dung Fields. Hence the names, the Cacanians live in an as large as the state of Vermont made entirely of their feces. A herd of these animals millions of years ago must have gathered in a valley where they wallowed in their own filth as defense from predators. Since predators usually don't eat anything covered in dung on Toci1, the surviving animals were spared and multiplied. This created an enclosed and toxic environment where only a few species could survive. The field eventually grew to its limit once it reached the surrounding rivers.

Growing up to 1 and a half meters in lenght, Cacanians likely evolved from smaller mudskipper like organisms. Their legs have a similar flexibility as those of a human baby and their large surface area allows them to crawl on mud-like terrain. Their body is also similar to an Earthworm and works the same way. Their cone shaped head and slimy skin allows them to push through terrain. They also have sharp extension of their skin that points backwards on their stomach, which prevents them from sinking backwards as they move.

The body design of the Cacanians was therefor well suited for a transition from mud to dung. However, they still had to protect themselves from infections and navigate in darkness. Glands on the back of their heads provide an oil with anti bacterial properties. The top layer of their skin also has a set of channels to evenly coat their bodies with the oil. They also have the well known Toci1 "pearls" that allow them to detect the North and navigate in total darkness.

"These creatures and their environment have been planned ahead for sometime now. What finally motivated me to make them public was likely the amount of fecal matter I have been exposed to in recent months. I read several articles on recent movies where humans were forced to or willingly ate poo, such as «The Human Centipede», «Salo or the 120 days of Sodom» and «Two Girls one Cup» (watch at your own risk). Now I haven't seen any of those scenes, and I don't plan to because that's beyond disgusting, but I figured since the world seems to be getting used to hearing about this, it was the right time to make it public."

FUN FACTS
Young Cacanians are hunted by predatory Skinlegs and Blugs. Adult Cacanians have no predators.
Both male and female reproductive organs are encase in a carapace of skin to help protect them from infections.
The organ behind their real legs is not their tail (which is the smaller organ on top) but an enlarged anus that can force out fecal matter at great force. This enables some propulsion to escape predators.
